As the CR exam week is looming large on the horizon I thought I would remind you of a few things you can do to make your exam work more in your favour.
- You do not have to answer the questions in order
As long as you answer all 4 questions, you should answer the questions in the order of the ones you feel strongest on first to weakest. This will give you more confidence from your well answered questions to answer a more difficult subject.
- Make your key points stand out and structure clear
Firstly start with using headers or clear paragraphs with blank lines between to show you are talking about different points. Do not merge paragraphs this can confuse the examiner. Remember you can underline and bold your key points. Please only the key points so it stands out clearly
- Running out of time – tell the examiner!
If you are running out of time and have not yet finished your essay you can in those circumstances (not before) put (running out of time) in your essay and then start to bullet point. Only do this if you have to, but it is a way to at least attempt to pick up a few marks
So there you have it. Remember to read the question, break it down and link it back to the learning outcome. When in doubt, common sense – what could the question be asking.
Happy revising!
