Now while I am an old school gal in many ways, as a procurement professional and trainer we have to embrace technology where possible to improve our processes. Whether that is AI automating our procurement processes, or tools and apps that can help you study more effectively then I am all in.
Here are some tools I think could be useful for you:
Anki
Anki uses spaced repetition to help users memorise information more efficiently. The app schedules reviews of flashcards at increasing intervals based on how well the user remembers the content.
MindMeister
MindMeister helps users create mind maps to visually organise information. This can aid in understanding and recalling complex topics by visually connecting related ideas
Pomodoro Timer Apps (e.g., Focus Booster, Pomodone)
These apps use the Pomodoro Technique, breaking study sessions into intervals (typically 25 minutes) followed by short breaks. This method helps maintain focus and prevent burnout, aiding in better information retention
Todoist: organise your study schedule
Staying organised is crucial for effective studying, and Todoist excels at helping you manage your study schedule and tasks. This app allows you to create to-do lists, set deadlines, and organise tasks into projects. There is a free section that will allow you to do this for one or two projects.
Forest
While this is a paid app (£3.99) Forest helps users stay focused by growing a virtual tree for every focused session. Scroll away on social media and the tree will wither away. It gamifies the focus process and encourages sustained concentration, which can improve memory retention.
If you use any other tools then let me know by replying to this email, and don’t forget we have a FREE mini-course on memory to help with your revision here
Cheers!
