Embrace your Mediocrity

If you are anything like me, you may get caught up in a perfectionism mindset.  So much so that I have been known to avoid the things that I am bad at (like parallel parking, climbing and anything that involves coordination) Lately, this is something I have been pondering on.  What even is perfect? It’s different for everyone – there is no universal perfection, and am I avoiding situations that I would enjoy and could lead to growth?  If this is something that resonates with you, let’s flip the script and talk about something that might sound a bit outrageous – embracing the art of mediocrity! 🎨

The Beauty of Being “Meh”
Picture this: you’re about to embark on your journey towards becoming a certified Procurement professional with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). The prospect might seem as nerve-wracking as trying to parallel park a yacht, but fear not! 🛥️

Embracing mediocrity is not about settling for less; it’s about acknowledging that perfection is often the enemy of progress. Imagine life as a buffet – you don’t have to load up your plate with every single dish to enjoy the meal. Similarly, in your CIPS pursuits, you don’t need to be flawless right out of the gate.

So, you’re gearing up for your CIPS qualifications – bravo! 🏆 Remember, just like the time you attempted to bake a cake without a recipe, it’s okay if things don’t go exactly as planned. Those syllabus sections might look like they’ve been written in hieroglyphics, but let’s embrace mediocrity with open arms and a dash of humour.

Here’s a little secret – nobody ever won a gold medal in the “Perfect Procurement Olympics.” Neither do your scores for each exam get read out at your graduation, you either pass or fail.
Perfection is a myth, much like unicorns and self-cleaning ovens. Your journey towards CIPS excellence will involve stumbling blocks, mental acrobatics, and a sprinkle of trial and error. And guess what? That’s perfectly fine!

Guess what’s even better than being perfect? Progress! Every chapter you read, every module you conquer, every mini victory – they all accumulate into an impressive tale of growth and achievement which you get to celebrate at your Graduation surrounded by your friends and family.

I hope that you decide to take the leap and sign up for your CIPS qualifications.  We offer CIPS training for Level 3 Advanced Certificate through to CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma, either with live virtual classes (Diamond Package) or our Distance Learning offering (Ruby Package)
