In the UK, it’s estimated that 15-20% of the population is neurodivergent, which translates to roughly 1 in 7 people. Globally, the prevalence is similar, with estimates ranging from 15% to 20%.
Our understanding is that all brains are neurodiverse, as no two brains are exactly alike. (So there is not one best way to learn for everyone, it differs) However, neurodiversity or divergence is often used to describe significant differences in how the brain works, such as in the case of autism, ADHD, or dyslexia.
As such we have focused on creating a neuro-inclusive learning model and system that will help as many learners as possible. Whether diagnosed neurodivergent, suspected neurodivergence or neurotypical we have applied behavioural science to our CIPS offering
Here are nine ways BAO can optimise your learning experience:
- Neuroscience-led learning design
We apply proven brain-based learning techniques, rooted in memory science and behavioural psychology, to boost retention and engagement.
- Microlearning for focus and clarity
All videos are under 10 minutes, focused on one clear topic at a time to avoid overload and support long-term memory.
- Humour is part of the method
We build laughter into the learning experience. It’s not just fun, it’s scientifically linked to stronger memory retention.
- Dopamine-triggering examples
No dull case studies from the 80s. We use smart, unexpected pop culture references (think Taylor Swift, cat cafés, Amazon robots) to spark attention and enjoyment, which boosts learning.
- Flipped classroom model
In our Live and Blended pathways, students watch short videos before class. Live sessions are hands-on, practical and interactive, not passive lectures.
- Using multiple content formats: We offer information in various formats (text, audio, video) to accommodate different learning preferences. You can even speed up or slow down the videos depending on your preference
- Fast-paced and engaging delivery
Sessions are varied and dynamic, covering 4 focused topics in 90 mins, to keep up with modern attention spans.
- Learning through play and competition
We use games like Kahoot quizzes in every session to reinforce short- and long-term memory. There’s even a prize for the top performer in each exam series: £25 of chocolate or alcohol after the exam.
- Active Learning
We have assignments and quizzes to tackle, we suggest you do these before you learn the material, this helps with attention, dopamine production and memory retention
