I will admit that I don’t watch a lot of films, I am more of a box set girl. However, when I was on a plane recently and saw the new Scream film, I had to watch it as it took me back to my 90s roots where my hair was styled like Jen from Dawsons Creek and I was partial to a red PVC jacket so I could look like a member of steps. (I am thoroughly aware that some of you are too young to even remember some of these references!) All you need to know though is I was very, very cool! 😉
Don’t worry there will be no spoilers here, but it is a reboot – in fact, they reference it in the movie as a requel. Basically, this means a reboot but with some legacy characters from the original movies. So Sydney, Gale, and Dewey are all present, but with a new set of friends. Of course, I started to think about how this was similar to CIPS.
One of the questions I am asked the most is about levels 5 and 6, and whether they are a step up in turns of content and difficulty. The answer is they are a step up, but if you have studied with me since Level 4 you are already being prepared for it. The reason the step is small is essentially each level is like the Scream film – a requel. Yes, we have lots of new topics in terms of motivation, change management, strategic choices, etc, but they are surrounded by legacy characters that you will know well. These include Porter’s 5 Forces, Kraljic, sustainability, and ethical codes of conduct.
Just like the Scream requel, there will be a sense of familiarity with some of the content, so what are you waiting for, join us for Level 5 and 6 studies – we promise that unlike the Scream film our training will not be a horror movie!
