Standing in front of Niagara Falls is one of those pinch-me moments. The roar, the spray, the sheer scale of it all. You feel tiny and in awe at the same time.
But here’s the thing. I turned up in a sundress and open-toe sandals. Not ideal when you get hit by a wall of spray from a thundering waterfall. Within minutes I looked like I’d been caught in a downpour. Rookie error.
It reminded me of something important though. Big, powerful things (like Niagara… or CIPS) are a lot more manageable when you prepare properly.
Without a plan, you end up drenched and soggy, no matter what plastic poncho you have with you! With the right gear, or in CIPS terms, the right preparation, research, and planning you’re ready to face whatever the exam throws at you.
Because yes, CIPS can feel overwhelming at times, like standing next to something vast and relentless. But if you break it down, one unit at a time, with the right preparation behind you, it shifts from overwhelming to energising. From “how will I survive this?” to “this is actually powering me forward.”
So, my Niagara advice?
Plan ahead, pack better than I did, and don’t underestimate the spray. The same applies to your studies.
- Follow your study plan, little and often
- Use the revision notes document to condense your notes into your own words
- Learn via doing by tackling your assignments
You’ve got this, and we are supporting you all the way, a lot more effective than a plastic poncho!
