I am a massive neuroscience geek. A total nerd for how our brain works and in particular learns. Memory also fascinates me. So, I have researched and ready the studies out there to see how I could help our students perform better.
If you have read my previous blogs you will see that we are dedicated to active learning, as per this article here https://www.businessacademy-online.com/struggling-to-remember-revision-technique-memory/ yet there is another tool we have up our sleeve. This is known as micro-learning.
What is micro-learning?
Microlearning is information delivered in small purposeful units. Broken down into small sections this means the learning can be better digested by the student.
We have broken down our videos into small chunks for each learning outcome 1.1, 1.2, etc. to help our students retain the information for their exam. Not only this but we have created exercises and added YouTube videos for
How does micro-learning help?
- It’s more engaging – bite-size videos mean less boredom and keep you off tik-tok watching dog videos!
- Attention spans – you may believe that you can take in information for hours, but sadly you would not be correct. Our average attention span is between 14 and 17 minutes. Having videos shorter than this means our students can take all the info that they need then have a break
- Neural pathways – when we learn something new we create something called neural pathways. Every time we re-access this information we strengthen these pathways and find the information easier to recall. Micro-learning helps as we can revisit the learning outcomes and strengthen our knowledge. Practice makes perfect!
Don’t just settle for the cheapest material, instead set yourself up for success by buying the training which is built to help you remember, our training![/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
